Rooted in Respect: Staivo’s Commitment to Land, Culture, and Connection

In the spirit of reconciliation, Staivo acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Countries throughout the world and their enduring connections to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to their elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

This acknowledgment is not a formality—it’s a foundation. Every property we manage, every guest we welcome, and every experience we curate is built on land that holds deep cultural significance. Whether it’s a coastal retreat in Noosa, a city loft in Sydney, or a countryside escape in the ACT, we recognize that these places are more than coordinates on a map—they are stories, memories, and sacred spaces.

Staivo’s presence spans diverse landscapes, each with its own custodians and cultural heritage. In Australia, we honor the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, whose lands cradle much of our Sydney portfolio. In Victoria, we acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. Across Queensland, we pay tribute to the Yugambeh, Turrbal, and Jagera peoples. In the ACT, where our headquarters reside, we respectfully recognize the Ngunnawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate.

But our respect doesn’t stop at borders. As Staivo expands globally, we carry this ethos with us—acknowledging the First Nations of Canada, the Māori of Aotearoa (New Zealand), and Indigenous communities across the Pacific and beyond. We believe that hospitality begins with humility, and that true welcome means honoring those who came before.

This cultural awareness is woven into our guest experience. From the way we design our listings to the tone of our communications, we strive to reflect emotional intelligence, transparency, and care. Our Booking Confidence Form, for example, is not just a screening tool—it’s a respectful invitation to engage. It’s designed to protect both guests and property partners, while maintaining a tone that’s warm, inclusive, and legally sound.

Staivo’s approach to short-term rentals is different. We don’t just list properties—we curate experiences. Each home is selected not just for its amenities, but for its story. We work closely with property owners and authorized tenants to ensure that every listing reflects the character of its location, the integrity of its custodianship, and the comfort guests deserve.

Our team grid layouts, modular forms, and editorial blogs are built with precision—but also with heart. We believe that digital presentation should feel like a conversation, not a transaction. That’s why our site architecture is narrative-driven, guiding guests through a journey that feels personal, intuitive, and emotionally grounded.

We also recognize that reconciliation is ongoing. It’s not a checkbox—it’s a commitment. Staivo supports initiatives that promote cultural education, Indigenous entrepreneurship, and respectful tourism. We encourage our partners to engage with local communities, support Indigenous-owned businesses, and incorporate cultural sensitivity into their hosting practices.

For guests, this means more than just a place to stay. It means arriving in a space that’s been thoughtfully prepared, where respect is not just spoken but felt. It means knowing that your booking supports a platform that values people, place, and purpose.

For property partners, it means working with a brand that understands the weight of trust. We know that your property is more than an asset—it’s part of your story. And we’re here to help you share it, responsibly and beautifully.

Staivo is proud to operate on lands that have been cared for over generations. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to that legacy, even in small ways. Whether you’re a guest seeking a restorative escape or a partner looking to elevate your listing, we invite you to join us in this journey—one that honors the past, embraces the present, and builds toward a more respectful future. Because at Staivo, hospitality isn’t just about comfort. It’s about connection.
